SUPPORTING COMMUNITIES
Evidence Based Practices
We at HRS solutions seek to positively impact the communities within central North Carolina, offering out clinical expertise to inspire others.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) combines both cognitive and behavioral techniques. CBT is an evidence-based practice proven to produce change. The cognitive therapy portion is based on the principle that people can learn to think differently, in a more positive way. The behavioral portion is based on the belief that behaviors are learned, and new behaviors can be learned to help re-evaluate behaviors. CBT helps you to become more aware of yourself, identifying thoughts that directly impact your mood. You learn to be more aware of unhealthy thought patterns and use a variety of strategies to replace those thoughts with supportive thoughts. Ultimately you respond differently in reaction to differently perceived circumstances. CBT provides methods for adjusting your perception of yourself and your environment while transforming your behavior.
Trauma-Focus Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is an evidence- based treatment approach to help children, adolescents, and their parents (or other caregivers) overcome trauma related difficulties.TF- CBT helps children and adolescents identify distorted or upsetting beliefs and characteristics and learn skills to help them cope with normal daily stressors. It also helps parents who were not abusive to cope effectively with their own emotional distress and develop skills that support their children. TF-CBT also combines both cognitive and behavioral techniques, designed to assist in overcoming negative effects of a traumatic experience. TF-CBT interventions specifically tailored to meet the needs of children and adolescents experiencing emotional and psychological difficulties because of a trauma, and are integrated with humanistic, cognitive behavioral, and familial strategies.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a collaborative and empowering treatment modality focused on your inherent drive to make healthy and positive adjustments, particularly in an area where you are feeling conflicted or unprepared for change. MI focuses on the identification, examination, and resolution of uncertainty about changing a behavior. MI is evocative, your therapist will support you through autonomy, to uncover any ambivalence or insecurity you have about a particular behavior or issue and will help you to identify and work to resolve this internal conflict. Together, you and your therapist will use this motivation to determine realistic, actionable, and incremental steps that will enable you to shift your behavior to better align with your goals. Because these steps are determined collaboratively, with your goals and internal motivations front and center, you will be prepared for and committed to these changes and able to sustain them over the long term. Ultimately TF-CBT is to allow both child and parent to continue to develop their skills and communication techniques in a healthy manner.
Solution Focused Therapy
Solutions Focus Therapy (SFT) is a goal directed approach which utilizes personal experience to address present challenges. SFT uses positive psychology principles and practices to identify ways in which you have successfully previous challenges in relation to work, school, family, or other relationships. This approach supports in changing your focus from the problem to identifying solutions. Through exploration and identification of personal strengths and resiliency, your therapist helps you to identify practical sustainable solutions that can be readily implemented. This is a person-centered therapeutic approach that depends on the unique wisdom you have regarding your own life experiences, circumstances, needs, and abilities, and has been proven to be highly effective in treating diverse populations and problems.
